Huntington Beach, CA

Now that the world is slowly opening back up, we decided to take a last minute mini vacay for the big thirty one! Which included spending too much money on a hotel (totally worth it!), going to the beach as much as possible, and finding good places to grub for all meals.

We loaded the car up to the nines, dropped the pups off at the puppy hotel, and started our journey of what was suppose to be a measly 4 – 4.5 hours which turned into a solid 6 hours! Traffic was a nightmare!! Granted it took more than a second to drop the dogs off, so I’m sure that didn’t help. So two kids 7 and under in a car for 6 hours when they’ve lived the last 18 months not doing too much because of C19; you can guess if they were really good or had multiple meltdowns. Definitely the latter.

We stayed at the Paséa Hotel & Spa. It was a pretty penny but still discounted through Hotels.com for being a beach side property. This post is no way sponsored by Hotels.com — they are my favorite 3rd party website to book hotels through and you can earn points and reward nights when you book through them. Definitely a big benefit when booking through them!

Of course we hit the beach the moment after we put our luggage in our room and played a game of frogger on the beds. “Off to the beach!” literally 200 steps from the hotel gate until your toes were hitting the sand!

Walked our way over to dinner, it sure was a gorgeous view with the beach right next to you!

Went to Ola Mexican Kitchen and had their tacos! Oh soo delicious *chef kiss*

Each day we found a new place to eat at including the pool menu when we took the kids to the pool after then had been at the beach all day!

The beach is definitely our happy place, even with the sand getting in all orfaces of your body

One day we rented one of those fun 4 wheel bikes and had the kids sit in the front! It was a damn workout but such a blast! Literally laughing the entire time and Elio and I worked our butts off pedaling the thing!

Even though parts of the day were cloudy, California's "June Gloom", it was still beautiful and refreshing to get out!

It was such a great trip with our family of four and the perfect way to ring in my birthday! Let me know all your favorite spots in Huntington Beach, CA in the comments!
